Editorial Policy

This page explains how content on The Well Brew is researched, written, checked and kept up to date. It applies to every review and article on the site.

Who is responsible

Maya Ellison, our Reviews Editor, is responsible for everything published here. Maya is not a doctor, dietitian, nurse or pharmacist and holds no medical credentials. Our content is general information for adults, not medical advice. See our medical disclaimer.

Sources

Health claims on this site should trace back to a source you can check. In order of preference, we use:

  • Published human research, such as randomized controlled trials and research reviews.
  • Government health sources, such as the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, NCCIH and the FDA.
  • The product label and the seller’s own published terms, for facts about the product itself.

We do not treat customer testimonials, sales videos or social media posts as evidence that a product works.

How we use AI tools

We want to be open about this. AI tools help us with parts of the work, such as drafting sections and summarizing research papers. They speed up the reading, but they do not have the final say.

A human editor checks every claim against the cited source before publishing. If a statement cannot be matched to a source, it is removed or rewritten. Doses, prices, refund terms and safety notes are always checked by hand.

Independence from brands

  • Brands and sellers do not pay for reviews, and they do not see a review before it goes live.
  • We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.
  • Affiliate commissions never change what we write. A product with a higher payout gets the same checks and the same honesty.
  • If a seller asks us to change a review, we only change it when they show a factual error with a source.

Our affiliate disclosure explains how we earn money.

No scores or ratings

We never give star ratings, scores or ratings out of 10. Each review gives pros, cons and who a product may suit, so you can weigh the details yourself. Our how we review page explains the evidence grades we use for ingredients.

Claims we will not make

  • That a supplement cures, treats or prevents a disease.
  • That a product is safe for everyone.
  • That a result is guaranteed or will happen fast.
  • That we tested a product in a lab or personally took it, unless we clearly say so.

Update cadence

Each review shows the date it was last updated. We recheck reviews at least every six months, and sooner when a price, formula or refund policy changes or when important new research appears. A date only changes when we actually recheck or edit the content.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. Send the page link, the error and a source if you have one to [email protected]. We review every correction request. Small fixes, such as a typo, are made quietly. When a correction changes a fact, dose, price or safety point, we update the review and add a short note saying what changed.

The Well BrewSupplement reviews, brewed slow

Slow, plain-language supplement reviews. We read the label, compare each dose with the research and work out the real cost. Edited by Maya Ellison.

The Well Brew is general information, not medical advice. Dietary supplements are not reviewed by the FDA for safety or effectiveness before they are sold. Talk to your doctor before you start, stop or combine supplements. Some links are affiliate links: if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes what we report.
