Nattokinase Benefits and Risks: What the Research Shows

The Well Brew card on a dark brown background reading Nattokinase benefits and risks, with the line: what trials found for blood pressure, arteries and bleeding.

Nattokinase is an enzyme from fermented soybeans. Its best evidence is a small blood pressure drop, about 3.45 mmHg systolic across 6 short trials with 546 people. The largest long-term trial, 265 adults over a median of 3 years, found no effect on artery thickening. It changes clotting tests, so people on aspirin or blood thinners should ask a doctor first.

Read the label first. Then decide.
